Called the “stone of the gods” by the ancient Greeks, the name expresses reverence for its beauty.

The color nuances from white to rosé to green and grey, which are always slightly different, make every piece of Sölker marble unique. Every year, 40,000 tons of marble are quarried in Kleinsölk by Sölker Marmor GmbH and shipped to customers in Europe and all over the world. Beautiful natural marble outcrops were formed in the Strubschlucht gorge, where the Großsölk and Kleinsölk streams meet. Over the course of thousands of years, the Sölkbach stream has carved its way through the Sölker marble.

Learn all the details from the formation to the processing of the fascinating colored crystal marble on a guided tour of the Sölker Marble Works. You will gain an insight into the different processing methods of the natural stone through to the finishing of products made from Sölker marble. On a hike into the Strubschlucht gorge, you can experience the marble in its natural form.
