Fishing on the last wild river of the Northern Alps – Crystal-clear waters, breathtaking scenery and excellent conditions for anglers: the Lech River and the Namlosbach offer unforgettable fishing experiences in the heart of the Tiroler Lech Nature Park.

Fishing in the Lechtal Valley

The Tiroler Lech Nature Park is one of Tyrol’s most beautiful fishing destinations. The free-flowing Lech River – one of the last wild rivers in Europe – and the crystal-clear Namlosbach provide ideal conditions for unforgettable fishing experiences in the heart of an impressive natural landscape.

Guest anglers have access to two fishing areas in Stanzach: the Lech River (Zone I) and the Namlosbach (Zone II). While fishing on the Lech is permitted exclusively with a fly rod under the “Fly Only – Catch & Release” principle, both fly fishing and spin fishing are allowed on the Namlosbach. Up to two game fish may be kept from the Namlosbach.

Fishing permits and the Tyrolean Guest Fishing Licence are available from the Stanzach Tourist Office. Advance reservation of fishing permits is recommended. Current prices, fishing areas, closed seasons and all applicable regulations are available on the Lechtal Tourism website or directly from the Stanzach Tourist Office.
