Family is very important in Ramsau am Dachstein, in two senses of the word. On the one hand, there is an extensive range of leisure and adventure activities, and on the other, the majority of accommodation is run as family businesses. Anyone who thinks that a family hiking vacation in Ramsau am Dachstein could be boring is very much mistaken. KALI, the Ramsaur, provides plenty of fun, excitement and adventure. The nature and child-loving green dinosaur mascot is always and everywhere with you!
KALI is particularly proud of “its” Sattelberg, also known as the “Ramsau Children's Mountain”. It is home to Austria's FIRST nature and environmental adventure trail for children - it is also exciting and educational for parents and grandparents! Awarded the “Austrian Hiking Seal of Quality”.
Nature and environmental processes are explained at 19 specially designed stations and can be experienced by children in a playful way. The forest computer, the research station, the raised hide with binoculars, the mini mill world, the tree house and the old farmer's mill are just some of the attractions that make this hike a varied experience. The Sattelberg also offers a dwarf farm and three children's via ferratas (Kali, Kala and Kalo) with an impressive 200 vertical meters to conquer.
The various children's and family hiking trails are a little more leisurely, but no less fascinating. The hiking guide also indicates those trails that are accessible with baby carriages.
