Fishing in the Wörthersee-Rosental region

Logotipo Fishing in the Wörthersee-Rosental region

Good luck on the Drau, Feistritz, Ferlach and Freibach reservoirs!

Feistritz and Ferlach reservoirs - Drau (Hollenburg forestry district)

The estuaries and tributaries offer a great variety of species. On approx. 8 kilometres along the mostly wooded north bank, quiet and exciting moments offer a special fishing experience.
Information and fishing brochures are available from the Hollenburg forestry office in Maria Rain (Tel. 04227 / 84 011).

Little Drau - fly fishing for gourmets

The greatest advantage of the Kleine Drau is its constant water level, even during the heaviest rainfall or storms. This means that the Kleine Drau remains fishable even at times when all other rivers in the region are in flood. Although the fishing is a real challenge, it is well worth it thanks to the grayling, brown trout and rainbow trout, some of which are large.

*Freibach reservoir

The beautifully situated reservoir is located at an altitude of 730 metres. The fish population mainly consists of salmonids such as brown trout, rainbow trout and lake trout as well as lake and brook trout and grayling. However, enthusiastic anglers have also hooked chub and feisty perch.
