Take the Höllentalbahn from Payerbach to Hirschwang
From the end of June to the end of October, you can embark on a special journey every Sunday and public holiday. Because then the Höllentalbahn starts from the station Payerbach-Reichenau along its 5 km long route to Hirschwang - and back.
What to expect on a ride with the Höllentalbahn:
Ride with historic carriages: The four-axle passenger railcar pulls back and forth between Reichenau and Hirschwang up to 8 times a day. Along the route you have a magnificent view of the Rax.
Adventure trips: 3 times a day, you can use the break at the respective terminus to take part in a guided tour through the electric forming plant in Payerbach or through the vehicle shed in Hirschwang - guided tours are included in the train ticket. More about timetable and guided tour times
Train ride and hike: If you like hiking, it is best to take the first train in the direction of Hirschwang. From there it's a few minutes' walk to the Rax cable car or along the 1.Wiener Wasserleitungsweg. Then take the last train back to Payerbach-Reichenau.
