Scenic route Tour de Vääksy 58km

Starting from Vääksy is Finland's most beautiful scenic road to the breathtakingly beautiful Pulkkilanharju. The nearly nine-kilometre-long Pulkkilanharju ridge across Lake Päijänne consists of ridge islands and underwater ridge ridges, and it is part of a nationally valuable landscape area and one of the most significant sites of the Salpausselkä UNESCO Global Geopark. The elongated islands of the narrow ridge, shaped by meltwater from the continental glacier, are connected by three bridges: the terraced section of Pulkkilansalmi, the Karisalmi suspension bridge and the beautiful arch bridge of Käkisalmi.

When the traveller has the patience to leave Pulkkilanharju behind, it is time to head east towards Kalkkinen. The village of Kalkkinen and the legendary Mani-Bar welcome cyclists. After a little refuelling, we start driving along Kopsuontie, which offers a nice bend, hill and landscape – this is Lahti region road cycling at its best!

Kopsuontie ends at Vesivehmaa at the Second Salpausselkä, from where the front of the bike is turned back towards Asikkala. You arrive here after 58 kilometers, where every kilometer driven is a diamond.
