With 340km of hiking trails in the fresh mountain air, there are walks for everyone and with numerous mountain restaurants in which to refuel, combined with unforgettable views of alpine pastures, no day is the same here in the Hochkönig. If Mountain biking or road cycling are for you, then the many dedicated paths and routes let you discover the Hochkönig region at your own speed. Bikes can be hired locally.
Seeking hidden treasures? Why not try Geocaching in the Mountains? All you need is a GPS from the Tourist Office with the co-ordinates and your adventure can begin.
Throughout the summer months, Childrens Activity Weeks are run in the village and with swimming in the outdoor pool (two minutes from Haus Wasserbauer) or Tennis on one of the local clay courts, there are so many activities for the whole family.
Should paragliding (with the locally-run Austrian Fly Club) or Golf at the Urslautal Championship Course be your chosen activity, both can be arranged on your behalf by Haus Wasserbauer.
Muhlbach’s Copper Museum, day trips to Salzburg, the Sound of Music Tour, Mozart’s birthplace, the Ice Caves in Werfen or a visit to the highest waterfall in Europe at Krimmel Falls are only a few of the wonderful sights to enjoy.
The Salzburgerland Card (available from Salzburg station) allows you to visit over 190 sights and attractions across Salzburgerland with either 24 or 48 hour passes, 6 or 12 day passes are also available.

How to find us
From the A10 Autobahn follow the signs to Bischofshofen, before you reach the town centre you will pass signs welcoming you to the Hochkönig Region. Then follow signs for Mühlbach am Hochkönig (the road is a classic mountain pass with many switchbacks so care is needed in winter). After 10/15 minutes you will enter the village. The next turning is on the right hand side just before Sport Hochkönig (which has bright yellow signs). Haus Wasserbauer is located on the right hand side of this road after 100m. Parking is available to the left hand side of the Haus.
