La excursión de invierno comienza en la Haus des Gastes, en la pequeña localidad de St. Blasien. El enorme edificio de varias plantas es el más antiguo de St. Blasien. En la época monástica sirvió de posada y establos con pisos para cocheros y carreteros. Desde aquí se llega a la impresionante catedral, que es la iglesia con cúpula más grande al norte de los Alpes. La visita a la iglesia es muy recomendable.
Sobre el centro de la ciudad, desde el Philosophenweg, se tiene una hermosa vista de St. Blasien y la catedral.
The starting point for your winter hiking tour is the Haus des Gastes in the small town of St Blasien. This is the oldest building in St Blasien. From here, follow Fürstabt-Gerbert-Straße to the impressive cathedral. You marvel at the church of St Blasius. Cross the Albbrücke bridge and head straight for the old hospital, built in the Swiss style. In the post-monastic period, the hospital became privately owned and has since been used by traders. At the Volksbank, turn right into Hauptstraße and walk along the Alb to Friedrichstraße. Turn left into Bötzbergstraße and walk straight ahead towards Philosophenweg. After about 150m, turn left onto the flat Philosophenweg above the town centre. From here you have a beautiful view of St Blasien and the St. Blasien Cathedral. Follow the path to Muchenländerstraße and turn left downhill back to the town centre.
