Leiter Alm mountain hut – Hochganghaus refuge - Gamplweg trail – Velloi

Take the nostalgic chair lift from Mitterplars/Plars di Mezzo - Algund/Lagundo to Vellau/Velloi and then the gondola basket lift to the Leiter Alm mountain hut. From there, follow the Meraner Höhenweg high alpine trail no. 24 to the Hochganghaus refuge. Next descend along trail no. 7 southwards towards Partschins/Parcines until you meet trail no. 26. Following trail no. 26, you cross the Töllgraben trench and then continue along a wide forest road leading to the Oberplatzer inn. Descend along trail no. 26 to the Kienegger restaurant and down to Vellau/Velloi, from where you can either take the bus or chair lift to Algund/Lagundo or descend on foot (another 550 meters of altitude difference).
