The Muotathaler distinguish the valley in sun half and shade half. While the sun shines in the sun half also in the winter, the shadow half must get along up to 15 weeks in the year without sunbeams. The Guggeli route lies on the sunny side of the valley. It starts at the baroque parish church St. Sigismund im Wil, the oldest part of Muotathal. Passing farms you walk to the third bridge over the brook Bächleren. From the bridge you can see the village and the Hürital. The route continues upwards and the break on the Guggeli has to be deserved with a short steep ascent. In the idyllically situated self-service broom restaurant you can take a break. After woods, sunny meadows with partly new dry stone walls and the crossing of two torrents, the circle finally closes again in the village.
