SV_05 Traversata della Rocca dei Corvi

walking on the dirt road you soon reach a crossroads at 353 m above the sea level. Here turn left and, past a cistern of the aqueduct (384 m), ignore the old trail signs and continue on the road to the left, walking uphill as far as a fork. Ignore the steep road on the right and continue on the dirt road across a chestnut wood for a long stretch on apparently level ground with some steeper stretches until you join a wider dirt road which you follow going right. Pass the rocks of an old landslide and a little way ahead turn off this road and take a footpath to the left into the wood signed by a “red line and dot” trail sign. In about 100 metres you reach Colletto della Rocca (620 m). Follow the road which rises along the north-eastern side ignoring some minor footpaths on the right, in about half an hour you reach the ridge near the summit by an old antenna near the main peak of Rocca dei Corvi (793 m; 1.50 hour from Cunio). Following an old dirt road you descend and pass the Cima Sud (785 m) and continue downhill along the steep western ridge. In a few hundred metres you reach a crossroads where you turn left. A little way ahead, by another crossroads, go left again on level ground reaching Cian da Barca (ignore the unpaved road on the left signed by a “empty red square” trail sign). The unpaved road is now downhill with some hairpin turns as far as a crossroads at 570 m above the sea level. Take the road to the left on level ground across the eastern side of Rocca dei Corvi. Pass a picnic area with a table and, a little way ahead, you find a spring and then an old landslide. Carrying on walking on level ground you reach a crossroads, where you join the road of the outward itinerary and walking downhill to the right you reach Cunio (1.40 h from Rocca dei Corvi).
