Have you always wanted to make the acquaintance of a giant? The "Danieltanne", which this hiking trail takes you past, is one of them. At around 50 metres tall, around 5 metres in circumference and around 400 years old, it is an imposing sight and has been a natural heritage tree since May 2026.
During the entire hike, you will be in the Schlüchtsee nature reserve. The lake invites you to relax and unwind or enjoy a coffee at the kiosk with sun terrace.
Start at the "Hüsli" hiking car park, where there are also public toilets, take the Alpenblickweg and after a while turn right onto the Hochtannenweg. This will take you past the Danieltanne natural heritage tree. Continue along the Hochtannenweg until you reach a rest area and then turn right onto the Hochstichweg. This leads you to the sports field and via the car park directly to the Schlüchtsee lake. Now enjoy the path along the lake and after a while turn left into the forest, where the path leads you back to the starting point via Schlühüwanapark.
