With up to *71 km of groomed trails (67 km for skating), you can take "cross-country skiing" quite literally. Your skis will glide almost limitlessly across high-altitude trails, through quiet valleys or on the challenging routes of the Nordic World Ski Championships, which were last held in Oberstdorf in 2021.

Crystal-clear air, snow-covered fir trees and meadows, deep blue skies – Oberstdorf's trails offer a truly magical way to experience winter. Experience nature covered in snow! Ten excellently groomed trails in the modernised network offer the best conditions for exploring the surrounding area and keeping fit.

Most of the trails are connected, extend across the entire municipality and also open up side valleys and districts. This means that there are many entry points available. The trails are widened in places to up to 15 m on ascents and descents. In addition to multi-lane trails in the middle of the valley, you will find secluded trails for discovery-filled tours with the family.

There is also plenty to discover on a tour through the districts of Rubi, Reichenbach, Schöllang or Tiefenbach. And just in case, ten kilometres in the core area of the World Cup route can be covered with artificial snow.

Beginners and advanced skiers alike are in good hands at the local ski schools. Trained cross-country skiing guides not only teach the technique, but also provide rental equipment. You can also take part in regular taster sessions offered by Tourismus Oberstdorf for both techniques.

At the new Nordic Centre Oberstdorf/Allgäu, floodlights ensure cross-country skiing fun in the evening. The 2 km long night trail is illuminated several times a week from dusk until 8 p.m.
