When summer draws to a close and autumn arrives, the sheep return to the Schnalstal Valley. Transhumance – the centuries-old migration of herds across the Alpine passes – is not only a natural spectacle, but also a living piece of culture. This tradition, which was recognised as intangible UNESCO cultural heritage in 2019, demonstrates the deep connection between humans, animals and the landscape. At the Tonzhaus, you can consciously experience this special time – at a slower pace, close to its origins and with all your senses
