The Glan-Blies cycle route is an ideal tour for families with children. Mainly on and alongside an old railroad line, it offers cycling pleasure without many inclines. The Nahe wine country begins between Lauterecken and Staudernheim with vineyards on the valley slopes. Lauterecken attracts visitors with plenty of water (Lauter and Glan) and a lovingly renovated town center with Veldenz Castle. The next small town is 10 km further on: you should definitely plan a break in Meisenheim, where there is plenty to discover in the historic old town. The old town wall, the Protestant castle church and the proximity to the River Glan - Meisenheim is a real gem. The route continues along the former railroad line next to the trolley line to Staudernheim, where the cycle path meets the Nahe cycle path. Other gems: the Disibodenberg, where Hildegard von Bingen worked, the barefoot path and the open-air museum in Bad Sobernheim. There are rail connections in Staudernheim and Bad Sobernheim

The tour starts directly at Lauterecken station. We head north along Bahnhofstraße, past a warehouse onto a country lane. At a T-junction, we turn right and follow the tarmac country lane past the sewage treatment plant, always close to the Glan, to Medard. There is a rest area and the opportunity to turn off into the village. The country lane leads to a local road, turn right here, cross a bridge and turn left immediately at the rest area towards the sports field. After the sports field, cross a bridge and follow the country lane to Odenbach. Shortly before the village, turn left at a T-junction and drive into the village. The road leads over an old stone bridge to the main road. Turn left here and follow the main road through the old town center. Directly before the Glan bridge, turn right at the playground and follow the country lane. The path leads past the football pitch with playground to Meisenheim. Here the signs indicate two options - directly into the historic town center or along the former railroad line to the former train station with a trolley stop. The route continues along the railroad line to Rehborn, where a dirt track leads past the signal box and on to Odernheim. In the center of the village, the cycle path changes back to the railroad line and runs alongside the trolley track. Shortly before the Nahebrücke bridge, there is a (steep) turn-off to Disibodenberg. Cross the Nahebrücke bridge (narrow side paths) to the
